The questions, scoring rubric, and adoption framework behind this tool aren't generic. They reflect a decade of proprietary research Second Mind Solutions has conducted with real clients — and are further grounded in the latest academic and industry research on how organizations actually adopt generative AI.
Over the past decade, Second Mind Solutions has conducted dozens of research studies for organizations across sectors — focused specifically on the behavioral, cultural, and structural drivers of technology adoption. The dimensions in this assessment are drawn directly from patterns identified in that work.
The framework is further validated by findings from leading research institutions and industry analysts — including McKinsey Global Institute, MIT/CISR, Gartner, Deloitte, IDC, BCG, and Forrester — on what distinguishes organizations that scale AI from those that stall.
Not all dimensions are weighted equally. The scoring rubric reflects what the evidence shows matters most — C-suite sponsorship, middle manager reinforcement, and trust and psychological safety carry more weight because research consistently identifies them as the strongest predictors of sustained adoption.
This is a living tool. As we collect more data from real assessments and as the research landscape on GenAI adoption matures, we will update the questions, rubric, and benchmarks accordingly. That's one reason we're calling this a beta.
